AFGA intends to increase access of families especially to poor and marginalized to quality Reproductive Health (RH) services, information and education. Currently AFGA provides RH services including family planning through 12 Family Welfare Centers (FWCs) in Kabul city and two FWCs in Herat and Jalalabad cities.

Family Welfare Center of Kabul city location are as following:

  • Family Welfare Center No.1   is located at Rabia Balkhi Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.2 is located at Malalai Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.3   is located at Khair Khana 102-Bed Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.4 is located at Rahman Mina Poly Clinic.


  • Family Welfare Center No.5 is located at 400-Bed Military Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.6 is located at Ministry of Women Affairs Building.


  • Family Welfare Center No.7 is located at Isteqlal Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.8 is located at Afghan Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.9 is located at Afghan Red Crescent Central Hospital.


  • Family Welfare Center No.10 is located at Qalae Bakhtyar Basic Health Center.


  • Family Welfare Center No.11 is located at Dogh Abad Basic Health Center.


  • Family Welfare Center No.12 is located at Dorahi Paghman Basic Health Center.

The provincial FWCs are located at capital of the provices in MOPH clinics. The Family Welfare Centers provide the following services to the clients.

 

 


 

 

 

 

 

 

  • Providing Family Planning methods including oral contraceptive, condom, injectable contraceptive, IUD and emergency contraception.


  • Providing counseling and health education on family planning methods, adolescent health and HIV/AIDS prevention.


  • Management of family planning methods side effects.


  • Ante Natal and Post Natal Care (where these services are not available).


  • Screening and treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs).


  • Simple treatment of infertility.


  • Referral of complicated cases to appropriate health facilities.


Totally 45033 clients and patients benefited from the services through these centers during the period. The FWCs recorded 1129 clients as victims of different kind of Family Based Violence and provided counseling services to them.

The centers provided counseling services on general health and reproductive health to 76559 numbers of women.
