AFGA intends to promote Reproductive Health and Rights through involving policy makers, media and influential people in the community by launching different advocacy activities (observation of special days, meeting with policy makers and community influential, presentation, press release, carrying out media interview and press conference).

The following are AFGA advocacy related activities during the period:

  1. Observation of Special Days:

AFGA has celebrated the following days in collaboration with line ministries (Public Health, Culture and Youth; and Women affairs) and related organisation.

    • International Women's Day.
    • World Health Day.
    • International Youth Day.

AFGA contribution for this activity includes:

1) Take active part in the coordination meeting.

2) Develop and distribute banners, brochures and posters.

3) Develop and broadcast of TV spots.

4) Participate in round table in national TV and carrying out media interview.

 

        2.  Participation at National IEC/BCC meetings and activities:

 

AFGA is an active member of national IEC/ BCC taskforce and regularly attended the meeting. AFGA has taken active part in development and revision of IEC/BCCC materials such poster, brochures and Spots (TV/Radio) with MOPH and related organization. AFGA and MOPH recently broadcasted TV Spots on HIV/AIDS through national and TOLO TV channels.

         3.  Participation in round tables and media interview:

AFGA Program officers and volunteers attended 14 round tables and interviews broadcasted by The Killid Group TKG) during the period. The following topic was agenda for the roundtables and interviews:

  • Family Based Violence, its type and consequences.

  • Violence from Islam Prospective.

  • Economic Impact of Family Based Violence.

  • Child Rights.

  •  Afghanistan laws and Violence.

  • Scope of violence in Afghanistan.

  • Role of community members in combating and prevention of violence.
